PRESIDENT’S ORDER No. 2 OF 2014
An
Order
further to amend the High Court Judges
(Leave, Pension and Privileges) Order, 1997
WHEREAS it is expedient further to amend the
High Court Judges (Leave, Pension and Privileges) Order, 1997 (P.O. No. 3 of
1997), for the purposes hereinafter appearing;
AND WHEREAS paragraph 2 of the Fifth
Schedule to the Constitution relating to the High Court provides that every
Judge of a High Court shall be entitled to such privileges and allowances, and
to such rights in respect of leave of absence and pension, as may be determined
by the President;
NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers
conferred by the aforesaid paragraph, the President is pleased to make the
following Order:---
1. Short title and commencement.—(1) This Order may be called the High Court
Judges (Leave, Pension and Privileges) (Amendment) Order, 2014.
(2) It shall come into force at once.
2. Amendment of Paragraph 8, P.O. No.
3 of 1997. In the said
Order, in Paragraph 8, for the words “six months”, the words “twelve months”
shall be substituted.
