The High Court Judges
(Leave, Pension and Privileges) (Amendment) Order, 1996
PRESIDENT ORDER NO. 5 OF 1996
AN
ORDER
WHEREAS it is expedient further to amend the
High Court Judges (Leave, Pension and Privileges) Order, 1970 (P.O. No. 9 of
1970), for the purposes hereinafter appearing;
AND WHEREAS paragraph 2 of the Fifth
Schedule to the Constitution relating to the High Court provides that every
Judge of High Court shall be entitled to such privileges, and allowances, and
to such rights in respect of leave of absence and pension, as may be determined
by the President;
NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers
conferred by the aforesaid paragraph, the President is pleased to make the
following Order, namely:-
1. Short title and commencement.-(1) This Order may be called the High Court
Judges (Leave, Pension and Privileges) (Amendment) Order, 1996.
(2) It shall come into force at once and
shall be deemed to have taken effect on the first day of December, 1996.
2. Amendment of P.O. No. 9 of 1990. In the High Court Judges (Leave, Pension and
Privileges) Order, 1970 (P.O. No. 9 of 1970), in paragraph 22A, in
sub-paragraph (2) for words “nine thousand rupees”, the words “thirteen
thousands five hundreds rupees” shall be substituted.
