Ordinance XXXI of 1958)

An Ordinance to extend the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947, to the
whole of the
Preamble.— WHEREAS it is expedient to extend the
Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947, to the whole of the

THEREFORE, in pursuance of the presidential proclamation of the seventh day of
October, 1958, and in exercise of all powers enabling him in that behalf the
Governor of West Pakistan is pleased to make and promulgate the following
Ordinance:-
1. Short title.— This Ordinance may be called the Prevention
of Corruption Act (West Pakistan Extension) Ordinance, 1958.
2. Extension of Act II of 1947 to the
whole of West Pakistan.— The
Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947, (hereinafter called the said Act), shall
extend to the whole of the
3. Amendment of Act II of 1947.— In the said Act in its application to the
Districts of Kalat, Kharan, Mekran and Las Bela reference to any provision of
the Pakistan Penal Code[2][2] or the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898[3][3], shall as far as possible, be deemed to be
reference to the corresponding provisions of the Tazirat-e-Qalat and
Zabata-e-Faujdari Qalat, as the case may be.
4. Repeal.—
The Bahawalpur Prevention of Corruption Act, 1950, is hereby repealed.

promulgated by the Governor of West Pakistan on 19th December, 1958; published
in the West Pakistan Gazette (Extraordinary), dated 20th Dec., 1958, pages

the Islamic Republic of Pakistan (1962).
