The Settlement Commissioners (Validation
of Orders) Act, 1972
1ACT NO. VI OF 1972
[7th September, 1972]
An Act to validate certain orders passed by Settlement Commissioners.
WHEREAS it is necessary to provide for the validation of certain orders passed by certain Settlement commissioners which have been declared or rendered invalid;
It is hereby enacted as follows:---
1. Short title, extent and commencement.___(1) This Act may be called the Settlement Commissioners (Validation of Orders) Act, 1972.

(3) It shall come into force at once and shall be deemed to have taken effect on the 26th day of March, 1958.
2. Validation. Notwithstanding anything contained in the Displaced Persons (Compensation and Rehabilitation) Act, 1958 (XXVIII of 1958), or in any decree or order of any court or other authority, any order purporting to be in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 21 of the said Act made by a Settlement Commissioner to whom the powers of the Chief Settlement Commissioner under sub-section (2) of section 20 of the said Act had been delegated shall be deemed to have been validly made and shall have, and shall be deemed always to have had, effect accordingly.
3. [Repeal] Repealed by the Federal laws (Revision and Declaration) Ordinance, 1981 (XXVII of 1981), s. 3 and 11 Sch.
