The Salary of Judges of
Superior Courts (Amendment) Order, 1997
PRESIDENT’S ORDER 5 OF 1997
WHEREAS it is expedient further to amend the
Salary of Judges of Superior Courts Order, 1995 (P.O. No.4 of 1995), for the
purposes hereinafter appearing;
AND WHEREAS the first paragraph of the Fifth
Schedule to the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan relating to
the Supreme Court and the High Courts provides that such higher salary than
that specified in the said paragraph shall be paid to a Judge of the Supreme
Court or a High Court as the President may from time to time determine;
NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers
conferred by the aforesaid paragraph, the President is pleased to snake the
following Order:‑--
1. Short title and commencement.‑(1) This Order may be called the
Salary of Judges of Superior Courts (Amendment) Order, 1997.
(2) It shall come into force at once and
shall be deemed to have taken effect on the first day of June, 1995.
2. Amendment of paragraph 2 of P.O. 4 of
1995. In the said
Order, in paragraph 2, in sub‑paragraph (2), for the figure “16976” the
figure “17100” shall be substituted.
