[4th February, 1973]

An Act to assign short titles to certain Martial Law Regulations and Martial Law Orders.

WHEREAS clause (3) of Article 280 of the Interim Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, hereinafter referred to as the Interim Constitution, provides that each of the Martial Law Regulations and Martial Law Orders specified in the Seventh Schedule thereto shall be deemed to have become an Act of the appropriate Legislature;

AND WHEREAS it is expedient, for facility of reference, to assign short titles to the aforesaid Martial Law Regulations and Martial Law Orders and also some of the Martial Law Regulations mentioned in the First Schedule to the Interim Constitution;

And whereas the Proclamation of Emergency referred to in clause (8) of Article 139 of the Interim Constitution is in force;

It is hereby enacted as follows:---

1. Short title and commencement.—(1) This Act may be called the Short Titles Act, 1973.

(2) It shall come into force at once.

2. Citation of Martial Law Regulations and Orders. The laws specified in the first two columns of the Schedule to this Act, being laws specified in the First and the
Seventh Schedules to the Interim Constitution, shall be cited and referred to by the short titles mentioned against each in the third column of the Schedule to this Act.

3. [Repeal.] Omitted by the Federal Laws (Revision and Declaration) Ordinance, 1981 (XXVII of 1981), s. 3 and Seh., II.
